Pulp to Paper, Print to Book
In this two-part workshop, participants will learn the process of making paper by hand and the nuances of selecting and using various pulps for different effects in a finished book.
On Day 1 of our workshop, we will examine different paper samples, learn how the fibers are prepared before being beaten into paper pulp, and we will pull sheets of paper for our book objects.
On Day 2, participants will fold, trim, and sew their sheets of handmade paper into our very own handbound books. We will review and learn: basic pamphlet, coptic stitch, and long stitch.
